Der Schuh Des Manitu.
Popcorn will be available. Movie and popcorn are free.
This is a different offering as we usually have a German movie with English subtitles. This time there are no English subtitles.
You will get the story line from the context and the action. I am told the story is quite obvious. For the so-so German speaker, you will catch many words and perhaps learn a few words while enjoying the gist of the story. For the real German speaker you will enjoy hearing German spoken and will enjoy the action of the movie.
This is a real “wild west” comical movie. Abahachi, chief of the Apache, and his blood brother Ranger are an inseparable pare since Ranger saved Abahachi from a speeding train on an unguarded railroad crossing.
The plot involves looking for a treasure, finding it, losing it and regaining it. Hostilities were ended, the villain gets his “just reward” and Ranger rides off into the sunset with his pregnant sweatheart. What more could anyone ask of an entertaining movie?

The Peoria Volkstaenzer (folk dancers) play an important role in keeping German culture
alive in the Heart of Illinois through dance. The group is dedicated to learning traditional
folk dances from all regions of Germany as well as Austria, Switzerland and more.
Not only do the members enjoy learning new dances but performing for others at our fests
and at other events throughout the area.
The group is open to people of all ages and our members range in age from 7 - 70+ years of age.
Folk dancing practices take place on Sunday evenings.
